An absolute masterpiece, unlike anything I’ve ever read before.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Gillian McAllister’s novels, so it was no surprise that I loved this one too. However, it managed to completely exceed my expectations.
It’s a novel unlike anything I’ve read before. Complex. Twisty. Dark. And yet, also beautiful. As each new layer is revealed, it’s like a piece of an intricate jigsaw slotting into place. But it still manages to leave the reader with absolutely no idea what the finished picture will look like until that final piece is placed.
I thought I had it figured out about half way through, and was impressed by the cleverness of it. And then incredibly even that was surpassed by further twists and revelations.
It’s truly is a work of pure genius. The way all the teeniest tiniest details fitted together to create something completely unforeseen was incredible. And yet, in itself the book mirrored the theme of the story, of how we can miss the tiniest details that hold the key to everything.
