Author Life – A Visit Home

It was my dad’s birthday last month, so I headed back home to celebrate with my family.

We’ve been talking about visiting Stoneleigh Abbey for years, and decided that Dad’s birthday was the perfect excuse to go there for afternoon tea. And what a good decision that was!

The photos really don’t do it justice, but the location was stunning (despite the grey day), and the food delicious. It was, without a doubt, the best afternoon tea I’ve had. We all agreed we can’t wait to go back again!

I also had a day trip into Birmingham while I was home. It’s been a while since I have had a wander around the city, and it was fun to play at being a tourist.
