Today is an incredible moment for me—The Quiet Sister is finally out in the world! It still feels surreal to hold this book in my hands, knowing that readers will soon be stepping into Chloe and Mia’s world. Writing this story was an emotional journey, and I’m beyond excited (and a little nervous!) to share it with you all.
At its heart, The Quiet Sister is a novel about sibling bonds—particularly the complicated and sometimes painful relationship between twins. Chloe and Mia may look alike, but they are opposites in so many ways—different personalities, different choices, and different ways of seeing the world. Their relationship is filled with love, jealousy, rivalry, and ultimately, deep-seated secrets that push them to the edge. Exploring how our closest relationships can both shape and shatter us was something I found deeply compelling.
Mental health plays a vital role in my writing, and The Quiet Sister is no exception. The story delves into themes of grief, trauma, and the ways we cope (or fail to cope) with our past. I wanted to shine a light on the internal battles we often hide from others and the resilience it takes to face the truth. It’s a psychological thriller, but at its core, it’s about identity, self-worth, and the lengths we go to for acceptance.
On a personal note, my own mental health struggles delayed this book’s launch. The realities of life sometimes intervene—family illness and personal challenges can derail our path and make the creative process feel impossible. But after all the setbacks, it’s great to finally be back on track and see this book out in the world.
To celebrate The Quiet Sister, I’ll be hosting a Zoom party tonight at 7 pm, where we’ll chat about the book, the themes, and all things publishing! There will be behind-the-scenes stories, and a Q&A. I’d love for you to join me!
Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey—readers, bloggers, booksellers, my amazing publisher, and of course, my family and friends. Your encouragement has meant everything. I hope The Quiet Sister keeps you turning pages late into the night!
