The last few weeks have been a joyful whirlwind, and I’m finally sitting down with a big mug of tea to reflect on it all. The Quiet Sister officially came out on March 10th—and instead of a single launch day, I somehow ended up with a month-long celebration!
I want to take you behind the scenes of this launch, from early sneak peek readings to bubbly-fuelled book parties. It’s been a dream seeing The Quiet Sister out in the world, and I’m so grateful for the love it’s received.
The Early Birds – February Sneak Peeks
Thanks to early copies arriving a little ahead of schedule (thank you, publishing fairies), I was able to hold two sneak peek events even before publication day.
Southbourne Library was first—thank you to the team there for being so welcoming—and then came an incredible event at Corfe Castle Library, where the audience blew me away with thoughtful, insightful questions. It’s always a joy to meet readers in such beautiful, atmospheric settings, and these early readings helped build a real sense of momentum.
Launch Month Highlights
-
March 10th – Publication Day!
-
Scripthaven, Worcester – My first official launch party with lovely readers, cake, and celebration.
-
Westbourne Bookshop – My now-traditional launch stop. Always a joy, and a big thank you to the wonderful team there.
-
Café Riva Grand Launch Party – This was the big one. Goody bags, Prosecco, decorations galore, and a room full of warm, supportive faces. It honestly felt magical.
In the Media
The Quiet Sister has also been getting some brilliant media attention. I’ve been featured in several local newspapers—and I’ve created a new In the Press page where you can read all the articles: Read the features here
More to Come
There’s still more excitement ahead! I’ll be appearing at events in Coventry and Bournemouth—and you can always find the latest on my Events page.
The People Behind the Pages
While I’m the one whose name appears on the cover, this book wouldn’t exist without a whole team of people behind it.
From my editors and proofreaders, who caught things I’d read a hundred times, to the friends and family who kept me going when the plot twists got too twisty—thank you.
The acknowledgements section of a book is, strangely, one of the hardest parts to write. Although writing a book often involves long, solitary hours at a desk, it’s never truly a solo effort. Behind every story are the people who inspire, support, and shape it—from editors and proofreaders to friends, readers, and fellow creatives. One of my greatest fears is forgetting to mention someone in the acknowledgements and, in doing so, overlooking the value they’ve added—not just to the book, but to my journey as a writer.
If you helped The Quiet Sister into the world—thank you. Truly.
And thank you to everyone who’s bought the book, come to an event, shared kind words, or cheered from afar. You’ve made this launch unforgettable.
