This October marks a very special milestone for me — it’s four years since I became a published author, and I can’t quite believe how far that journey has taken me.
It all started in October 2021 with The Perfect Daughter — the book that changed my life, taking me from a burnt-out accountant to a full-time writer living by the sea and doing what I love every single day.
Fast forward four years, and I’m thrilled to be celebrating the release of my newest psychological thriller, The Missing Boyfriend, out on 14 October.
Before the big day, we’re holding a special online pre-launch event on Monday 13 October at 7pm, where I’ll be chatting about the inspiration behind the story, the stunning Dorset setting, and what readers can expect.
You can book your free ticket and join us at: authorevents.co.uk/alexstone.
The Missing Boyfriend is set in Christchurch, UK, one of my favourite places in the world. I loved weaving in real local settings — the peaceful riverside walks between the Captain’s Club Hotel and the Priory, my favourite cafés, and even a local gym that might just make an appearance at the in-person launch party on 20 November at The King’s Arms Hotel.
It’s been such a joy to celebrate these books in the very place that inspired them. Dorset has given me not just beautiful backdrops for my novels, but also an incredible community of readers and writers who’ve supported me every step of the way.
If you can’t join the online event, don’t worry — we’ll also be live on Instagram (@alexstoneauthor) on Tuesday evening at 7pm. I’d love to see you there.
And finally, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who’s read, reviewed, and recommended my books. Every single review — on Goodreads, Amazon, NetGalley, or anywhere else — genuinely helps authors like me reach more readers and keep writing the stories we love.
Here’s to four amazing years, new beginnings, and a very special missing boyfriend…
