I recently launched a new networking group called Author Events. It’s a place where writers and others in the publishing industry can get together, share ideas and experiences, and also advertise their news and events.

Our second author meet-up was held on 20th August at Bacchus Bar in Birmingham. It was only a small group due to it behind a Tuesday, but it was such a fun afternoon. We caught up on each other’s writing news and had a big discussion on marketing, particularly the benefits of having your own author newsletter and tips for attracting subscribers.
The next event will be on Saturday 14th September at Arcado Lounge in Christchurch (Dorset, UK). And the next Birmingham event will be Saturday 12th October at Bacchus Bar Birmingham (UK).
